Last year’s leading scorer for the Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers boys basketball team spent a lot of his time outside the arc. Over 55 percent of the 254 shot attempts taken by senior Koby Hardcastle last season came from three-point land, and 52 percent his 92 shots converted were from distance. The Raccoon Valley Radio Network recently sat down with Hardcastle ahead of his final high school basketball season. He says getting more shot attempts at the rim is an area of his game he worked on this offseason. “Going up strong and finishing around the basket,” Hardcastle said, “A lot of times (last season), I wouldn’t take enough dribbles to get all the way to the basket and go up strong. That’s one thing this summer I worked on a lot.”
Hardcastle scored 201 of his 289 points from either the free throw line or the three-point arc last winter. He is the only starter returning from a 3-19 squad a season ago. Hardcastle and the ADM boys basketball team starts the 2018-19 season on Tuesday, November 27, in a road contest against the Pella Christian Eagles.
