Soon Jefferson area residents will have a new playground park to enjoy.

The Paul Nally Park at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jefferson will soon be open to the public.

Organizer Peg Raney says the playground will be located east of the Parish Hall of the church and will have playground equipment and a shelter house.  She comments that this was a way to use an open area for the community to enjoy.

Raney states that the funds for the project came from Paul Nally, a benefactor of the church and along with donations from church members to start construction on June 28th.  They are building the park with volunteers.

She points out that they’ve submitted a grant to Trees Forever with plans to plant 37 trees in the fall around the park.
