Coon Rapids-Bayard maintained sole possession of first place in the Rolling Valley Activities Conference volleyball race with a victory in Coon Rapids over Paton-Churdan on Thursday night. The Crusaders won in three sets by scores of 25-12, 25-18, 25-21, to improve to 8-0 in the conference with just two league matches left. The Rockets fell to 3-5 in the conference and 5-11 overall.

P-C plays at Adair-Casey on Oct. 8 for their fourth straight match away from home.
