
The Stuart City Council will meet in regular session Monday.
The meeting will begin with several items regarding a Casey’s renovation project, including a public hearing and resolution to vacate a portion of South Gaines Street between Southwest 7th and 8th streets. Next, the Council will consider approving a second pay estimate for Northeast 2nd Street lighting in the Wambold phase two addition. The Council will then consider awarding hotel/motel tax grants, discuss and consider action on employee wages for the next fiscal year, and consider a resolution for cigarette permits.
Mayor Dick Cook will make presentations on a waterline to Boy Scout park, town cleanup, snow ordinance, and the cemetery committee. Economic Development Director Kristen Renslow will present several items, including a resolution for workforce housing tax incentives for Savannah Homes. Finally, Police Chief Dave Reha will give a presentation on RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bike Ride Across Iowa) staffing and road closures.
