The City of Perry is seeking to update their public image, and to do so they have entered into an agreement with Brand Driven Digital to establish a new brand identity.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says for the last several months the City has partnered with the Chamber of Commerce and Perry Economic Development, Incorporated (PEDI) to decide how best to tell Perry’s story. “Kind of the conclusion that we came to was it was time to take a step back and look at rebranding the community. So what this will be doing is creating a new identity, new logo, and a new brand that we can then push out and market that new brand. So kind of an exciting process, and it’s a great partnership between the City, Perry Economic Development, and the Chamber.”
The City Council approved their contribution to the project, which is half of the $10,000 price tag. The Chamber and PEDI will provide the rest of the funds, though Peterson says their respective boards will have to approve that at their next respective meetings. Brand Driven Digital is a company out of Coralville, though they have employees that grew up in Dallas County and are familiar with the area. They also just finished with a branding campaign for the City of Newton, which was facing similar hurdles as Perry, so Peterson said the search committee felt the firm was well-equipped to help.
