A Jefferson organization helped to keep Greene County kids warm this winter.
The Jefferson Rotary Club purchased and donated 36 winter coats to Greene County New Opportunities for its Operation Warm Hearts fundraiser. The coats were in a variety of youth sizes, as New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman says over 90 youth were involved in the program.
The Rotary Club was able to purchase the coats through Rotary District 6000’s partnership with Operation Warm Hearts because the program’s mission is to “provide warmth, confidence and hope to children in need through the gift of brand new winter coats.”
The Rotary’s purchase was made possible from the previous auction fundraiser the organization does every year, including this year as an online only auction.
