08/06 At 5:27 am, a deputy found an anhydrous ammonia tank leaking at the Churdan Coop
At 8:05 am, Rickie E. Tuhn, 51, of Grand Junction was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Harassment 3rd Degree, charges filed by Jefferson police, he was booked and released O/R per warrant
At 10:25 am, the sheriff conducted a welfare check in Rippey on a resident who had not been seen for several weeks, subject was found in his house needing medical attention due to back issues, Grand Junction Rescue assisted
At 12:50 pm, the sheriff investigated the theft of personal paperwork from a Scranton resident
At 2:11 pm, Janon L. Olson, 41, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail serving a Domestic Abuse-Assault sentence
At 3:27 pm, the office handled the report of cattle out on R Avenue between 270th and 277th Streets
At 5:10 pm, a deputy investigated the theft of a bench and yard ornaments from Paton, the bench was recovered on Main Street where it had been placed on the roof of a car on Saturday night
At 7:41 pm, a deputy assisted Carroll County with a welfare check on a resident that had not been seen for a week or so in their county
At 8:57 pm, a deputy checked the report of a possible stalled vehicle in the 1900 Block of R Avenue but nothing was found
At 9:05 pm, a deputy checked the report of garbage being burned in Rippey but the location could not be found
At 10:55 pm, a deputy checked careless driving in Grand Junction. The vehicle was found parked but the driver was identified and cited for careless driving
08/07 At 7:24 am, the sheriff conducted a welfare check in Grand Junction on a resident who had not been seen for several days, subject was found in their house and it was determined that they possibly needed medical attention, Grand Junction Rescue assisted
At 9:17 am, the sheriff checked an alarm in the 500 Block of D Avenue
At 10:10 am, the sheriff investigated a criminal mischief and theft at the Memorial Park in Grand Junction
At 11:01 am, the sheriff assisted Carroll County with a trash dumping investigation
At 2:30 pm, Gary L. Hingeley, 46, of Churdan was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a state trooper on warrants for Burglary 3rd, Theft 2nd, Felon in Possession of Firearms and Parole Violation, all counts as a Habitual Offender. Charges were filed by a deputy in connection with an investigation from 07/27, he remains held
At 3:45 pm, the sheriff assisted with sheep out in the 700 Block of N Avenue
At 4:40 pm, a deputy received a call concerning harassment by telephone in Messina, Ia. Caller was advised to call their local law enforcement first and that we would assist them with the investigation
At 4:55 pm, Gary P. Sinkuler, 42, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest and transport by a deputy from Omaha after he waived extradition on warrants for Possession of Methamphetamine 3rd Offense, Possession of marijuana 3rd Offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Disorderly Conduct, all charges filed by Jefferson police, he remains held
At 6:57 pm, a deputy investigated the report that an intoxicated driver had left a resident in Grand Junction and struck a mailbox and caused other damage. Deputy located the vehicle at the subject’s residence and he arrested Adam J. Harvey, 36, of Grand Junction for OWI 1st, he remains held
At 9:46 pm, a deputy investigated a domestic dispute in Churdan
08/08 At 3;29 am, a deputy checked the report of suspicious vehicle around the Cedar Street railroad crossing in Jefferson and found that it was railroad employees
At 3:30 pm, a deputy investigated a suicidal subject in Grand Junction. Deputy convinced the subject to go the ER where they were checked out
At 8:02 pm, a deputy checked the report of a suspicious vehicle near N Avenue and 170th Street. Before the deputy arrived the vehicle took off at a high rate of speed and drove to Churdan and then south to Scranton with the caller following it. Another deputy intercepted the vehicle on 220th Street near H Avenue and cited the driver for speeding.
08/09 At 4:31 am, a deputy conducted a welfare check in the 2200 Block of 230th Street and found that telephone problems were occurring
At 8:23 am, a deputy checked the report of a hazard at 220th and E Avenue where a mannequin was placed advertising a garage sale, it was found to be no worse than garage sale signs where everyone slows down to read them
At 5:07 pm, a deputy checked a civil dispute between a landlord and renters in the 2100 Block of Orchard Avenue
At 6:40 pm, Daniel L. Makinen, 56, of Bovey, MN was booked into the county jail serving an OWI 1st sentence
At 7:49 pm, a deputy investigated the complaint of a subject urinating in public in Grand Junction
At 9:35 pm, a deputy conducted a welfare check in Grand Junction and located the subject who was fine
08/10 At 1:57 am, a deputy executed an arrest warrant for Dallas County on a Kevin S. Lingner, 41, of Grand Junction for Driving While Revoked. He was transported to the county line
At 4:06 am, a deputy checked an unattended vehicle at 220th and Forrest
At 8:35 am, a deputy checked cattle out in the 1800 Block of R Avenue
At 11:28 am, a deputy checked the report of trespassing on the UPRR near R Avenue, subject was located walking to Jefferson from Grand Junction and warned to not be on railroad property
At 4:08 pm, a deputy investigated the theft of a pickup truck from Cooper but later was advised a party had sold the truck
At 8:29 pm, a deputy checked a loud music complaint in Grand Junction and asked the subjects to turn it down and they complied
At 9:35 pm, a deputy investigated a harassment complaint in Scranton involving someone texting lies about another. It was found to have occurred in Jefferson and the party was advised to contact the PD
At 10:26 pm, a deputy picked up two stray dogs in Scranton and transported them to the PAWS shelter
08/11 At 12:34 am, a deputy assisted Decatur County with an investigation
At 2:15 am, Juan A. Guzman, 25, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for Public Intoxication, he was later released O/R by magistrate
At 3:54 pm, a deputy checked a littering complaint in Dana that was cleared
At 4:11 pm, Danielle J. Ohm, 29, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning herself in on a warrant for Probation Violation-Original charge of Unlawful Use of Credit Cards, she was booked and released O/R per warrant
At 8:10 pm, a deputy checked careless driving in Grand Junction but did not locate the vehicle
At 8:55 pm, James N. Burton, 46, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after turning himself in on a warrant for Harassment 3rd Degree, charge filed by Jefferson police, he was booked and released O/R per warrant
At 9:10 pm, Chad L. Ferguson, 39, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by Jefferson police for OWI 1st, he was later released O/R by magistrate
At 10:28 pm, a deputy investigated a property damage crash in the 1100 Block of 244th Street and arrested one subject for OWI. No crash report was needed.
At 10:50 pm, a Jefferson police officer checked the report of a domestic dispute at Ferg’s in Grand Junction but the subjects had already left the area
08/12 At 12:05 am, Andrade Rico Alejandro, 28, of Jefferson was booked into the county jail after an arrest by a deputy for OWI 1st and Failure to have a Driver’s License, he was later released O/R per magistrate
At 11:00 am, a deputy was asked to conducted a welfare check in the 600 Block of B Avenue but was then advised contact had been made and he could disregard
At 3:39 pm, a deputy checked the report of an injured deer in the 1600 Block of N Avenue and he destroyed the animal
At 5:12 pm, a deputy investigated a verbal domestic dispute in the 700 Block of 220th Street
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
