The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team faced off against the Pleasantville Trojans Tuesday night and lost a defensive battle in three sets at home.
The Panthers came into Tuesday’s matchup with an overall record of 5-3 on the season and were looking to improve their record but lost the first set 25-23, the second set 25-18 and the third set 26-24 in what turned into a defensive match and fell to 5-4 on the season.
Head Volleyball Coach Joanne Sandage says Tyme Boettcher led the way in serving going 12 for 13 with two aces. Jaidyn Sellers led the offense with 6 kills on the night and Angel Poldberg and Tyme Boettcher each had 2 kills on the night.
For the defensive side Jaidyn Sellers had 3 assist blocks and 4 solo blocks while Tyme Boettcher had 4 assist blocks and 3 solo blocks. Jasmarie Flanery had an impressive defensive performance as well chipping in 15 digs on the night.
Sandage says the game against the Trojans was a defensive game and both sides did well at keeping the ball off of the floor while the Panthers had 55 digs on the night. Sandage says it was a good defensive outing from both sides and that the sets could have gone either way but the Trojans came out on top.
The Panorama Panthers Volleyball Team will look to get into the win column once again when they take on the Greene County Rams and South Central Calhoun Titans in a triangular beginning at 5 p.m. Tuesday, September 21st at Greene County High School.
