The Dallas County Conservation Board is hosting a fun family fishing event early next month.
Seasoned volunteers and naturalists will be on hand at the Glissman Conservation Area pond during Iowa’s free fishing weekend to help teach kids of all ages how to fish. No fishing licenses are required that weekend so families can try it out at no cost. The conservation board will have fishing poles for people to borrow, along with bait and treats for the kids. Experts will be on hand to help teach new anglers the basics including how to bait a hook, cast a line and catch a fish along with identification, measurement and release.
The event takes place from 3-6pm Sunday June 3rd at the Glissman Conservation Area, southwest of Adel. Pre-registration is required and can be completed by calling the conservation office at 465-3577.
