An opportunity to make it to the state tournament is on the line today for the ADM girls soccer team, as they will be making the trip to Council Bluffs to take on the Lewis Central Titans. Both teams come in with good record in this Class 2A – Region 2 championship game, with ADM 10-7 and Lewis Central at 14-5.
The Tigers were able to win in thrilling fashion on Tuesday night in the semifinals, as they were able to win in overtime by the score of 2-1 over Glenwood. Freshmen Jada Grove was a major factor in that game tallying both of the goals, and junior Dani Person only allowing one goal while tallying 10 saves as well. Lewis Central was able to blank Atlantic by the score of 6-0 in their game.
The history between the two teams is limited, as the only matchup since 2010 was in 2012, which the Tigers were able to win 2-1. The Tigers are facing a team that has 92 goals on the season, so finding a way to retain possession will be major to the Tigers victory chances tonight.
Kickoff tonight will be happening at 6 o’clock, as the Tigers will be looking to put together a special performance and find a way back to the state tournament.
