As the select House Committee continues its public hearings into the events that took place on January 6, 2021 in the U.S. Capitol building, one congresswomen is sharing her comments.

US Congresswomen Cindy Axne tells Raccoon Valley Radio she believes the events on January 6th were coordinated by former President Donald Trump to disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. 

“America is seeing that in these revelations and these hearings that many have confirmed that January 6th just wasn’t a spur of the moment incident. That it was premeditated. And then it truly was an attempt to overthrow our American democracy.”

Some legislators are calling these January 6th hearings an attempt at political theater. Axne finds it unAmerican that anyone would vote against or not want to be a part of the January 6th committee. 

“Good, patriotic Americans in Kinzinger and Cheney stepping up, saying, but we come from a cloth that’s cut, that we serve this country and we protect our democracy against all odds, against all folks. It doesn’t matter what letter is behind their name. So I think it’s sad that they’re saying this.”
