Today is the deadline to file interest for Perry’s 3rd ward City Council position.
Barb Wolling was appointed to the position after a vacancy earlier this year, but a new councilperson will be elected during the November 6th general election.
Interested candidates need to fill out an affidavit and nomination papers by 5pm. The forms can be picked up at the City Clerk’s office or online at www.PerryIA.org.
Eligible candidates must live in the Third Ward of Perry at the time of election, be a U.S. citizen, a resident of Iowa and at least 18 years old. Candidates cannot be a convicted felon be currently judged incompetent to vote by a court or claim the right to vote in another location.
