The low river levels are making it tough for one Dallas County Conservation Board program to occur.

The DCCB started this summer, its ongoing event titled “When it Rains We Paddle ,” which invited the public to paddle the length of the middle and south Raccoon Rivers in Dallas County with them. Outreach Coordinator Sarah McKeever says since the river water levels were so low they were not able to get this event going. McKeever says they’re hoping to do a similar event.

“We are hoping to maybe do one more county-led float this fall. If the river levels do come back up, that would just be a one time thing. So keep your eyes on our social media for updates on another river float if the levels do come up.”
