Grand JunctionTomorrow will be the 2nd Annual Grand Junction Lincoln Highway Day sponsored by the Grand Junction Horizon’s Club.

Member Pierre Kellogg says another new event to this year’s town celebration is a jaws of life demonstration by the fire department.  Kellogg is part of the fire department and he talks about why they wanted to include an activity like this.

“It’s what we rescue people out of cars that have been compromised during a motor vehicle accidents.  We just want the people to see exactly what we have to do to get a person trapped in the vehicle out.  So if it ever were to happen to them, they would not be quite as scared and it just shows how trained our fire department really is.”

The Lion’s Club is sponsoring the car and bike show in the city park from 3-5pm along with a deejay from 3-6pm and there will be a supper severed with a dedication of the shelter house to the late Wayne Emmett from 5-6:30pm.

Other events include the Town and Country Band performing in the park and the 5K glow run and walk will close out the festivities at 8:30pm.
