There are four contestants left in the Perry Chamber’s Big Boom Bracket Battle, as more money continues to be raised for the Fireworks Drive in July.
Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti expresses that the second round of the friendly competition brought in a little over $600, bringing the total amount to $2,985.19. Based on the rankings, she confirms that there are two double-digit seeds remaining in the bracket. Pasutti tells Raccoon Valley Radio that it’s fun to see the upsets, but really loves that people are contributing to help Perry have a great fireworks show.
“Even if your favorite person doesn’t make it to the next round, you know that it’s going to a good cause that we can all enjoy come 4th of July. So, it’s meant to be fun, a little bit competitive and every little bit adds up, but those bigger donations definitely change the game as well.”
The four individuals left are Perry Fire Chief Grason Hill (ranked 3rd) against Sarah Reimers (15th) of the Perry Booster Club, then Paige Scheib (8th) with Edward Jones versus Des Moines Area Community College VanKirk Career Academy Director Eddie Diaz (12th). Pasutti invites the public to cast their votes to determine the final two as donations will be accepted through this coming Tuesday at noon. To find out how to donate, click here.
In person donations can be dropped off at the McCreary Community Building, 1800 Pattee Street, or to the Perry Chamber of Commerce Office at 1124 Willis Avenue as well as mailed to P.O. Box 472, Perry, IA 50220.
