A familiar face is taking a new position with the West Central Valley School District.

Amanda Sickles has been the Preschool through 2nd Grade Principal for the last two years, but is now helping the district as their new Human Resources Director. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio what the differences are between the two positions.

“There’s also a lot of behind the scenes things that have to take place in a school. So you know I’ll also assist with state reporting and you know trainings, certification type things, you know documentation of those pieces as well. And so I’ll really be able to focus more on those staff pieces whereas you know as a principal you kind of wear a lot of those hats of, you’re dealing with the parents and the students and the staff and, just all the groups.”

Sickles mentions that there are a few dates for staff, students and families to remember coming up, with the Back to School Night on August 20th from 5-7pm, first day of school for kindergarten through 12th grade on August 25th, and the first day of preschool is on September 2nd.
