In non-conference high school volleyball on Monday night in Churdan, Coach Nikki Uebel’s Rockets hosted Eagle Grove and lost in three sets by scores of 19-25, 20-25, 10-25. The Eagles improved to 4-6 while the Rockets fell to 1-3.

The Rockets dealt with the loss of starter Kaliyah Minnihan who suffered a season ending injury practicing softball in Des Moines on Sunday. Coach Uebel’s team did not have practice time to work out the kinks of a whole new rotation.

The coach reports senior Mia Russell led the team in kills with seven, and she added four digs and one ace serve. Junior Alivya Smith had four kills, an ace serve, and three digs. In her first varsity start, Chloe Happe recorded two assists and one kill.
