Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Cross Country Head Coach Josh Chapman discusses aspects he was able to take away from the 2025 squad.
Chapman, who just completed his sixth year with the Tigers, explains that every year he learns something new from his teams and this year, he was reminded of how much the boys genuinely enjoyed running and being around each other. He shares that running is a sport that can turn into a lifelong passion following high school. Chapman says his goal is to help the boys fall in love with running, instead of viewing it as a chore.
“That they realize that as they train consistently that it gets easier to run those more difficult runs earlier in the summer, and that the more consistent they are, the more enjoyable (it will be). They get that ‘runners high’ and just are happier people.”
Chapman notes that he loved seeing the boys form positive relationships with each other as well as other runners from opposing schools. ADM qualified for the state meet for the sixth straight year and placed 10th overall in Fort Dodge on October 31st.
