The leader of the Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Boys Bowling Team expresses his excitement over the program’s accomplishments this season.

The Tigers just completed their second season of bowling, with the boys team qualifying for the state tournament, marking a second place finish, as well as senior Cole Darling winning his second consecutive Individual state championship.

Head Coach Jason Kilker describes that the year began slower at the baker game level, but those started to take shape as the season progressed, going from a 190 average to about 205 near the end of the year. ADM previously partnered with the Waukee School District, before forming their own team last year. Kilker says that being the head coach has been a blast.

“Every day, I’m ready to go. And it’s not really a drag to go to the bowling alley. I love having Sarah (Boesen) as my cohort. She’s my assistant (coach) when it’s the boys turn, and I’m here assistant when it’s the girls turn. It’s really great that we’ve been able to work together, and really thankful to Bryce Smith at Adel Family Fun Center that helps us out with getting lanes ready. He’s been very impactful as far as helping our program grow as well.”

The Tigers concluded the season with a 9-1 overall record (4-0 inside the Heart of the Raccoon Conference), as ADM won both the conference and state qualifying meets. The Tigers will be losing seniors Cole Darling, Treyton Lee, Ty Lovejoy, and Colby Simons.
