The Panora City Council met in regular session Monday night.
The Council approved the city of Panora budget for fiscal year 2026-27, the first consideration of an ordinance amending zoning regulations in light industrial districts, and heard that the planned increase to utility rates will be sufficient according to Public Financial Management recommendations. They also approved LMI funding commitment for 113 East Main Street in the amount of $5,000 to TDS Industries, a tax exemption application for 219 West Clay Street, and tabled a professional building inspections services agreement with Veenstra and Kimm in order to review other options.
The Council then heard an amended agreement for ambulance and health care transportation services with Guthrie County Hospital, approved final payment and termination of a development agreement with Dollar General Panora, LLC, a bid for underground utility construction with Dirt Teck, LLC, and an agreement with the Iowa Department of Transportation for maintenance and repair of primary roads in municipalities.
