Greene County sent its girls’ golf team to the River Bend Golf Course at Story City for an 18 hole tournament Monday afternoon. Coach Heath Telleen’s squad finished third among six teams with a score of 422 strokes, well behind host Roland-Story’s 344, as well as the 408 posted by runner-up West Marshall (State Center). Grand View Christian (Des Moines) was fourth at 456, followed by 472 from North Polk (Alleman), and Clarion-Goldfield-Dows shot 528.

The four scores for the Rams that counted in the team total were turned in by four seniors. Leading the way for Greene County was Alivia Cornell, who placed seventh with a round of 100. Maya Telleen was eighth at 104, followed by 108 from Taylor Johnston and 110 for Calleigh Fitzpatrick.

R-S sisters Brinley Carlson and Hadley Carlson were the top two finishers at the event. Brinley shot 79 and Hadley recorded an 89. The Carlson sisters have relatives in Greene County.
