The Jefferson Rotary Club has announced new Bell Tower Festival Parade awards in honor of the United States celebrating its 250th birthday.
According to the parade sponsor, the first new category is the Stars and Stripes Ingenuity Award that will be on the most creative way to use the nation’s colors of red, white and blue. The next one is Most Creative Human-Powered Entry that highlights walkers, families, youth groups and pet-friendly entries.
Organizers note that there is a category for imaginative use of bicycles, scooters, golf carts and other small-wheeled vehicles with the Most Creative Small-Wheels Entry. Yet another new parade award is the Liberty and Greene County Legends Award that showcases local history, heritage and hometown stories. Finally, there is a Grand Prize for the best use of this year’s Bell Tower Festival Theme of “America’s 250th Birthday.”
The Jefferson Rotary Club is entering its 30th year as the parade sponsor and they encourage churches, civic groups, class reunions, businesses, families, friends and farms to bring an entry to the parade. To submit a parade entry, click here.
