The Adel-DeSoto-Minburn Girls and Boys Soccer Teams played in Winterset on Thursday, as the girls racked up nine total goals to win 9-1, then the boys came out on top in a tug-of-war competition 6-4.
In the girls contest, ADM garnered three goals in the first half, as Winterset captured one to make it 3-1 at the break. The Tigers broke the game open in the second half, outscoring the Huskies 6-0 to roll to a 9-1 victory.
ADM was led by freshman Faith Doyle, who posted a hat trick with three goals, then seniors Haley James and Bella Hulscher, sophomores Rowan Crowell and Anna Schwarte, then freshmen Addison Montag and Riley Odam each tallied a single goal. Husky senior Hallie Wickman notched the lone goal for Winterset.
ADM improves to 7-3-1 with the victory, as Winterset falls to 2-8-1 overall.
On the boys side, the game went back and forth as the Tigers took a 1-0 lead, before the Huskies tied it at 1-1. ADM would garner two more goals to hold a 3-1 advantage at the break. However, Winterset would score two consecutive goals in the first 10 minutes of the second half to tie the contest at 3-3. The game would later be tied 4-4, then the Tigers would capture two more goals to secure the 6-4 win.
ADM senior Cael Orban accounted for five of the six goals for the Tigers, as junior Drew Hall was responsible for the other one. ADM climbs to 3-5-3 on the season, and Winterset drops to 3-8 on the year.
The Tiger girls will host Bondurant-Farrar in Adel on Monday, while the boys will travel to Bondurant that same day.
