Greene County High School boys’ golf coach Kyle Kinne is feeling pretty good these days about the state of the program. Not only is the varsity having its best season in years, the overall program numbers are up and a beefed up JV schedule is giving more players opportunities to compete.

For example, on May 1, the Rams played a varsity tournament hosted by Southeast Valley at the Dayton Golf Course, while not one, but two, junior varsity teams played at the Panorama tournament. The coach told Raccoon Valley Radio “It’s been a while since we’ve had 18 golfers competing, and playing well, at the same time,”

The varsity has the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference Tournament on Tuesday at Lincoln Valley Golf Course east of State Center hosted by West Marshall.
