A major racing event is coming up this weekend.

Guthrie County Sheriff Matt Harmann says that the Market to Market Relay will be taking place on Saturday. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the race starts in Jefferson, and makes its way into Des Moines as competitors run on the Raccoon River Valley Trail. Harmann mentions that drivers should keep an eye out in areas where the trail crosses roadways, as there will be increased foot traffic. He adds that with this being a relay, there are a lot of extra vehicles meeting up and exchanging runners, so drivers should watch for these extra vehicles, which could be parked along county roadways.
