An important deadline for 4-H members and anyone looking to participate in a County Fair or the Iowa State Fair is fast approaching.
Guthrie County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Program Director Shelby Van Horn shares that May 15th is the last day for anyone wanting to register for 4-H or register to show animals to get those things done. She explains that it is something all 4-H members must do to show.
“That is the statewide deadline to have all of those animals entered and tagged and put into 4-H Online. So it’s very important that you get in here now and get those things taken care of ahead of time and we’re here to help you if you need help with any of that.”
Van Horn mentions that they recently held their sheep and goat weigh ins, so those looking to exhibit those animals should get that information put into 4-H Online. She adds that individuals can get help from the Extension Office in Guthrie Center if they need it, especially with the input of information, or in understanding what is needed for registration.
