The West Central Valley Girls and Boys Track and Field Teams participated in the Ogden Meet on Friday, as Wildcat freshman Caden Lane finished second in the Boys Long Jump.

West Central Valley’s Boys garnered fifth place (48 points) as a team, behind Paton-Churdan and Madrid. Lane went a distance of 19 feet and 3.50 inches in the Long Jump event for second place, as sophomore Kael Sawyers grabbed third in the High Jump going five feet and four inches. Also, freshman Carson Tigges ran 5:20.43 in the 1600 Meters for third then captured fifth in the 800 Meters at 2:13.32.

On the girls side for the Wildcats, they secured sixth place (32 points) trailing Coon Rapids-Bayard and Dallas Center-Grimes. Sophomore Isabella Teague threw 86 feet for fifth place in the Discus, followed by sophomore Janae Dukes who got 10th in the shot put with a distance of 27 feet and 5.25 inches. 

West Central Valley freshman Rebecca Cassady ran 3:11.13 in the 800 Meters to nab fourth place, while sophomore Scarlett Putney picked up eighth place in the open 100 Meter Dash (13.97 seconds) and finished ninth in the 200 Meter Dash at 29.93 seconds.

The Wildcats are now gearing up for the Class 2A State Qualifying Meet in Treynor this Thursday, starting at 4pm.
