Eleven Mustangs qualified for state for the Dallas Center-Grimes boys track team at the state qualifying meet at Waukee Northwest High School on Thursday night. Three Mustangs qualified in individual events alongside two relay teams.

Senior Darien Walker took second in the 110 meter hurdles finishing in 14:51 seconds to qualify for state. Sophomore Christopher Opoku-Sekyere claimed the silver in boys high jump while junior Wyatt Valenta qualified for state claiming second in shot put.

In the relays, the team of Ethan Carlson, Chase Heitland, Osborn Grimm and Tavain Waters claimed second in the 4x100m relay qualifying for state alongside the boys 4x800m who claimed the gold consisting of Rylan Heeren, Eli Oberreuter, Cael Ramsey, and Jack Meggison.

11 Mustangs guarantee their spot at the 2026 State Track meet at Drake University, qualifying in five events. At large qualifiers remain to be released.
