Early voting has begun for the June Primary Election.

Dallas County Auditor Todd Halbur says eligible voters can cast their absentee ballots in person at the Auditor’s Office, 210 N 10th Street, in Adel from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday through June 1. The Auditor’s Office will also be open for an additional day of early voting from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 30.

Halbur adds that the last day to request an absentee ballot is Monday, May 18. He states that absentee ballots can be returned in-person at the Auditor’s Office or through the mail. 

The June Primary Election in Dallas County will include four contested supervisor races for the two political parties in the primary election. Republicans Robert Greenway and Sumit Ashvin Patel are running in District 1, Democrats Patricia Tice and Michael Kern in District 3, Republicans Lance Farrell and Marsha Bannister in District 4 and Republicans Dave Roszak and Oliver Bardwell in District 5.

Republican Julia Helm is running unopposed in District 2. Other candidates running unopposed in their party include Democrat Jason Benell in District 1, Republican incumbent Kim Chapman in District 3, Democrat Ben Nizzi in District 4 and Democrat Julie Bautista in District 5.

There are no contested races for the County Attorney, Treasurer and Recorder, with Matt Schultz, Summer Portzen and ReNae Arnold running for those respective positions.
