Several athletes at the schools in Guthrie County were able to punch their ticket to the 2026 Iowa State Track Meet next week.
There were quite a few automatic qualifiers between the three schools. Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center had the most athletes qualify with five events, and will be sending the 4×200 meter relay team of Meranda Gruber, Savanna Akers, Cadence Petersen and Nora Langgaard for the girls team, and the sprint medley relay team of Joe Crawford, Brexton Schneider, Tommy Skram and Talon Noland, the shuttle hurdle relay team of Skram, Morgun Nolte, Collin Stringham and Schneider, as well as Preston Kent in the 3200 meter race and Schneider in the 110 meter high hurdles for the boys team.
Panorama had athletes qualify in four events, and will be sending Kylie Rochholz in the 1,500 and 3,000 meter races for the girls team, along with Reed Draper in the long jump and Syler Shaffer in the 400 meter hurdles for the boys team.
West Central Valley had only one automatic qualifier, with Willow Ray heading to the Blue Oval for the high jump. A full list of the automatic qualifiers can be found in this story online.
