The Dallas County Emergency Medical Services Department will celebrate National EMS Week by hosting a free workshop on Thursday.
The free Stop the Bleed training will be held from 4-5:30 p.m. at the Dallas County Human Services Campus, 25747 N Avenue, in Adel.
The department says 40% of trauma-related deaths worldwide are due to uncontrolled bleeding. It adds that many of those deaths could be prevented with the right skills.
Participants will learn life-saving techniques to control bleeding, how to act fast when seconds count and the simple steps that anyone can use to help save a life in an emergency.
Space is limited, so those interested in participating should register early by clicking here.
