The Panora Public Library is ready for June to get their summer reading program started.

Library Director Molly Allen says that those interested in participating will just need to get the reading log from the library to do so. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio that they have something a little different to go along with the program.

“We’re going to do some dragon trading cards, which we’re excited about. For every two hours that you read, the kids will earn four of these trading cards that they can collect. And then you can also play a game with each other with the cards.”

Allen mentions that the cards are prizes for grade school aged children, while younger kids can get prizes for participation in the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program. She adds that older kids will have some different prizes as well from a drawing, and that all children who participate in the summer reading program will receive a book.
