Paton-Churdan has two Class 1A State Track & Field Meet qualifiers and a total of five events with four of those today. The meet starts at 9 a.m. at Drake Stadium in Des Moines and the Rockets will have both junior Blaise Schilling and junior Trevon Keely in the long jump, which starts at 9. Keely will run the preliminary of the 200 meter dash at 11 a.m., followed by the 100 meter dash prelim set for 1:05 p.m.

Keely, the 2025 Class 1A State Champion in the high jump, will compete at 9 a.m. tomorrow in that event.

It’s been decades since the Rockets had this many events at a State Track & Field meet, along with the potential to score points in more than one event.
