The ADM wrestling Tigers will depart from the regular Thursday evening by going up a class with a Tri-meet in West Des Moines against 3A schools Dowling Catholic and host Valley High School.

ADM will certainly be challenged going against bigger schools, which tend to have deeper rosters both in terms of sheer number and talent. Tigers head coach Justin Schmauss said he’s not concerned about the team’s overall finish Thursday. He’s instead relishes the opportunity for his talented wrestlers to take on the area titans.

“Oh definitely. That’s why I wanted to put in on the calendar this year because I know that we’ve got some good guys,” Schmuass said. “And I know that we might not compete as a team because of the holes we have [at certain] weights, but I know that individuals that are wrestling well – they’ll compete just fine.”

The “holes” Schmauss referred to are ADM’s vacancies in the 106 and 113 pound classes. Thursday’s tri-meet begins at 5:30.
