The ADM boys basketball team held its end of season banquet Thursday night, and eight seniors were honored.

Head coach Aaron Mager talked to Raccoon Valley Radio about the message he delivered to his team on the heels of a 3-19 season, and the program’s outlook moving forward.

“There were successes within the season that wins and losses didn’t show, and these guys were not failures by any means. The season as a whole was not a fail,” Mager said. “If you look at just record and take that only, then yea, it’s not pretty. But we want to get back to where the guys coming in are experienced and have a mentality to win. And you’ve got to start somewhere, so you’re going to have to manufacture it at this point because our freshmen this year didn’t have a wonderful year if you look at the record, JV was OK.

“But what I do like is the grit. I think there’s some grit there. I think they want to get better. I think they’re gonna put in the work, I just have that feeling they are. We’ll see. I think they’re tired of losing, number one, and they know I am and they know the coaching staff as a whole is. So I think if you get enough people moving in the right direction it’s going to turn around – I believe in that.”
