The Rotary Club of Jefferson raised a record amount of money at their recent fundraising auction.

Auction chair Chris Durlam says Friday’s event raised roughly $34,000, setting a new record for the annual event that began in 1999.  Durlam says expenses will be deducted from the gross receipts and the exact net proceeds may not be known for some time.

The more than 180 auction attendees were able to enjoy a dinner served by the BPOE Does and bid on more than 90 silent auction items and 80 live auction items.

The majority of the proceeds are donated to various causes in and around Greene County.
