spring into greeneWith spring finally here and summer on the way, many people are wanting to get out and spruce up their homes and lawns.

The Greene County Chamber invites everyone to their Spring Into Greene event on Saturday, where several vendors will be on-hand to help with home improvement and landscaping ideas. Tourism and Events Coordinator Angie Pedersen says the event is a chance to showcase what Greene County has to offer for your home, lawn and gardening needs.

“The idea is just to get back into thinking about taking care of your yards, fun new things for your houses and we’ve got lots of opportunities right here in Greene County of places you can shop for those sorts of things. It’s just a nice reminder of what’s available locally.”

Vendors will be inside and outside of the courthouse in Jefferson. The Chamber is also working together with Jefferson Matters: Main Street and the Jefferson Garden Club to sponsor gardening expert Jerry Kluver from Hy-Vee’s “Get Growing with Jerry Kluver”. He will be at the Thomas Jefferson Gardens at 11am. The Greene County Master Gardeners are sponsoring another special guest speaker with Jefferson resident and Bonsai tree expert Lynn Menz at 1pm at the courthouse.

Spring Into Greene will be from 9am to 3pm. Sponsors for the event as well as participating vendors can be found below.
