Hunting season is in full swing in the Raccoon River Valley.  Pheasants, rabbits, squirrels, water fowl and turkey seasons are currently open.  But the most popular season for hungers is yet to come… shot gun deer season.  Guthrie County Conservation Director Joe Hanner says season one runs December 1^st through the 5^th and season two is the 8^th through the 16^th. And that means deer may be moving more during that period, so drivers should be extra cautious on the roadways.  Hanner reminds hunters to always think of safety first as you are enjoying the outdoors.
