guthrie county fair“Red 43” wasn’t expected to wreak any havoc at the Dakota County Fair in Minnesota last week, but the raging bull got loose during the rodeo and ended up injuring eight people.

Those intending to head to the rodeo at Guthrie County Fair coming up Labor Day weekend shouldn’t be alarmed though.

C.W. Thomas, President of the Guthrie County Fair Board, says fairgoers planning to attend the rodeo on August 30 have nothing to worry about in terms of safety.  Thomas has contracted with Grand River Rodeo for many years, and their experienced crew follows numerous security precautions.

Thomas says no such incidents like the one in Minnesota have ever occurred at the Guthrie County Fair, but he did acknowledge that things sometimes happen when dealing with livestock.

There will be plenty of security personnel on hand at the fair to make sure all visiting have a safe and enjoyable time.  This year’s fair kicks off on Thursday, August 29th.
