Local residents of the Stuart area are invited to attend a ribbon-cutting celebration this evening.

The Stuart Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting for Johnie’s Tap at 5:30pm, with an after hours social running from 5 to 7pm.

The Chamber will use the ceremony to welcome Audrey Gomez, the new owner of Johnie’s Tap, to the Stuart business community.

Though she is the new owner, Gomez isn’t a newcomer to the Stuart area.  Johnie’s is actually named after her father, John Gomez, who established the tap on December 20th, 1951.  Audrey took over ownership of the tap back on August 1st after working in the bar for over 30 years.

The Chamber says it hopes to see local families come out and show support for Gomez tonight as she begins in her new ownership role at one of Stuart’s classic establishments.
