It’s expected to rain much of the day and evening here in Perry, but the Dallas County Relay for Life participants aren’t going to let that damper their spirits.

Because of the rain, event co-chair Gary Iles says they have decided to move the event from the Kaufman Track inside to the gymnasium at Perry High School.

All activities at the Relay will still go on as planned including the survivor laps, carnival games, luminaria ceremonies and various contests.

Iles says they hope to raise around $45,000 for the American Cancer Society through the event.

Registration for the relay starts at 11am and festivities conclude at 9pm.  Everyone is welcome to stop by for all or any portion of the event.
