Greene Co. 4-HThe Greene County 4-H Young Leaders will be hosting their main fundraiser of the year next week.

Greene County ISU Extension Coordinator Michael Cooley says the 14-member group invites the public to the Jefferson Pizza Ranch for their annual tip night fundraiser on Monday, May 5th.

Cooley highlights the main goals of the 4-H Young Leaders program.

“The Young Leaders are a group of high school 4-H’ers who have chosen to participate in this special 4-H group to enhance their leadership, citizenship and communication skills.”

The fundraiser will be from 5-8pm with ten percent of the proceeds going to the group and they will also receive all tips during that time period.  All the proceeds will go back to the young leaders to sponsor activities throughout the year.

He adds that this year, the group will be helping to clean up a two-mile stretch on the Raccoon River Valley Trail and they will also sponsor the free outdoor movie during the Greene County Fair on Thursday, July 10th.

The members of the group include president Kami Badger, vice-president Kate Sandage, secretary Thea Ballard, treasurer Taylor Hardin, and multimedia specialist Hannah Gunn.  Other members are Cassidy Carstens, Bailey Godwin, Noelle Gray, Emily Heupel, Ashley Kuhl, Kasey Lane, Reilly Niles, Sarah Sandage and Wade Wuebker.
