For the second consecutive season the ADM Lady Tiger softball team will have a regional final appearance as they seek to continue on the the hallowed grounds of the state tournament.
ADM earned their second straight regional final appearance after defeating Denison-Schleswig 14-0 in five innings. Tonight the Lady Tigers will be welcoming in the other region 1 second round winner in the Bishop-Heelan Lady Crusaders.
The Lady Crusaders, who ended the regular season ranked 13th in the final class 4A polls, defeated their second round opponent LeMars by the final tally of 13-1 at LeMars last Saturday.
Tonight’s match up will be an even bout between these two teams. Bishop-Heelan narrowly leads ADM in batting average .328 to .310 while the Lady Tigers lead the Lady Crusaders in home runs 20-16 with two of those home runs coming in their postseason match up against Denison-Schleswig. Both teams rank inside the top 12 in slugging percentage and yield two of the top 5 lowest team ERA’s in class 4A however, ADM yields one of class 4A’s premier pitchers in Molly Jacobsen with a class leading 409 strikeouts.
