A season high seven errors were simply too much to overcome Tuesday night as defending state champion Winterset feasted on the mistakes and defeated Perry 10-1 in makeup RRC action at the PAC. It was senior night for Perry as the Jayettes recognized the five seniors on this year’s roster. Alyssa Kruger, Sidney Vancil, Jo Diw, TJ Sheehee and Grace Stewart were all recognized prior to the start of the game.
Winterset scored twice in the first and added five more in the second to put the game away. Five of the runs were unearned. Perry managed five hits on the night with Diw and Gabbie West providing two hits while Vancil added a single.
Kruger struck out two in working the complete game surrendering only four earned runs.

Perry finishes the Raccoon River Conference with a record of 1-13 and will look for a fresh start Thursday with the first round of postseason play when they travel to Carroll for a 700 game with the Tigers. The two teams split during the regular season.
