Friday morning, the Perry Fareway presented a check to the Toys for Tots organization from their recent round-up fundraiser.
New Opportunities representative John Andorf accepted the check offered by Fareway Store Manager Travis Landgrebe, which was for $905.33. The money will go towards supplementing the toys donated in this year’s toy drive, with everything received going to benefit area children this holiday season. Landgrebe said he was pleased with the response from his customers for this year’s round-up for Toys for Tots, as they dwarfed last year’s donation total of $621.45. The round-up ran between November 12th and 21st, and Fareway shoppers were asked at the register if they wanted to round-up their total with the remainder going to Toys for Tots.
Andorf expressed his gratitude for the donation on behalf of New Opportunities and the U.S. Marine Corps, as the two organizations partner each year for the toy drive in Perry.
