Iowa State University recently released their 2020 cash rental rates.

According to the report, Dallas County saw an increase in the overall cash rent per acre for corn and soybean. The average is $232 per tillable acre, which is up from $215 per acre last year.  Greene County also saw an increase to $239 per tillable acre, up from $229 in 2019. As for Guthrie County, the average tillable per acre rate is $206, which is a decrease from 2019 of $227 per acre.

The statewide average is slightly up from 2019. The average tillable per acre cash rent is $222 compared to $219 per acre last year. The averages are calculated together, when considering the highest, middle and low quality of land from the respondents. There were 1,592 farm operators, landowners, agricultural lenders, professional farm managers and realtors, as well as other professionals that took the annual survey.
