adm-7

The Adel-Desoto-Minburn Tigers are back in Des Moines for the second consecutive year when they take on the Gilbert Tigers tonight from Principal Park.

ADM played last year in the state tournament making it on a miraculous run after having a losing regular season. They lost to eventual state champion Cedar Rapids Xavier 7-2, in a game that was extremely close between the two schools.

ADM will this year be hoping to make a run in the state tournament, as players and coaches have said that just making it won’t be good enough for this team this year, they expect to advance.

Neither team has played since last Wednesday where Gilbert was able to defeat Boone by the score of 10-0 and ADM was able to defeat Bondurant by the score of 3-1. It will be interesting to see how both teams play after both having their most time off between games all season long.

ADM and Gilbert both meet last year with Gilbert getting the win by the score of 2-1. Both teams have excellent pitching staffs, with senior Zach Fuller leading the Tigers and junior Easton Johnson for Gilbert. Both are expected to play some kind of role on the mound tonight for both teams.

Both teams have good offenses, with both clubs knowing how to get on base with ADM has an OBP of .386 while Gilbert has an phenomenal .428 on base percentage, one of the main reasons that they’ve been one of the best teams in the state this year.
