2019-hot-august-night

An annual tradition returns to Jefferson next week, and volunteers are asked to help out with part of the event.

Hot August Night will take place on Thursday, August 13th from 4:30-7:30pm around the downtown square in Jefferson. Jefferson Matters: A Main Street and Chamber Community Office Coordinator Beth Vander Wilt says they will be serving a fundraising meal that evening and are needing volunteers to help. She notes, there will be two shifts to help in the food line from 4:30-6pm and 6-7:30.

“So if you would like to get out, and get some fresh air, and help with our food line (that would be appreciated). Our food line, our serving line, we will all be wearing masks as a requirement to keep people safe.”

Interested individuals can contact the Main Street and Chamber office at 515-386-2155 or email Vander Wilt at beth@greenecountiowa.com to volunteer to help serve the meal. Proceeds from the event will go towards the Jefferson Matters organization.
