A project to bring new life to the Churdan City Park has mostly been completed.

Organizer Libby Towers says the park has new playground equipment and other items so that it would be a venue for generations to enjoy. Paton-Churdan students voted on their favorite design, which was purchased through ABCreative and built by Burke Construction. Towers says there are other structures to be installed within the next couple of weeks with toddler swings and a merry-go-round. Plus there will be engineered wood fiber as the ground covering of the park.

Towers says they also received several grants including Grow Greene County Gaming Corporation, Wellmark Foundation, United Bank of Iowa, Farmers Mutual Insurance, Alliant Energy, along with local businesses with Minnehan Metal Works, Gemberling Excavating and Guess Electric. She thanks everyone who supported her over two-year project and hopes everyone can be proud of the new life the Churdan Park now has.
