With the announcement late last week that Des Moines Christian had a positive COVID-19 case and would not be playing football in the immediate future, the Greene County Rams were affected. That’s because DMC was to have been the Homecoming opponent on Sept. 18 for the Rams. The Lions aren’t playing football right now, so Greene County school officials are searching for a team to be their opponent this Friday night. That’s the COVID-19 world we live in with change just one positive test away.

Caden Duncan, head coach of the Rams, told Raccoon Valley Radio over the weekend that possible opponents are being searched for. Greene County isn’t the only team in the state that is in this situation and the coach is hopeful a game can be lined up perhaps as early as today.

Greene County is 1-2 overall and 0-1 in Class 2A District 9 after losing 31-18 on Senior Night at Linduska Field in Jefferson last Friday to Atlantic. The Rams weren’t able to hold a lead of 18-16 with less than eight minutes to play in the game.
